A graduate of the Toho Gakuen School of Music, Yuki Kamiya is a prizewinner of several national and international competitions including the 82nd Japan Music Competition, which has led him to be soloist with the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra, Mozart Symphony Orchestra, Toho Gakuen University Orchestra, among others. In addition to playing piano recitals in the Kawai Omotesando Series and JT Ensemble Series, he has toured nationwide as soloist as part of the concert tour for the anime series Your Lie in April, as well as Figure Skating TV! Classical Concerts. His performances were selected as official instructional videos for the 2020 Elementary School Grade 6 Music Course Curriculum distributed by the Ministry of Education, Japan. He also has been on BS Fuji’s Music of the World: Hello! Classical and NHK-FM’s Recital Nova.
His past piano teachers include Ikuko Oshima, Satoko Tokumaru, Chikako Mizutani, and Nobuhito Nakai. He has also studied music theory with Akira Naito and conducting with Toshiaki Umeda. He currently resides in Berlin, where he studies with Björn Lehmann at the Universität der Künste Berlin.
