Takuya Niinomi was born in Ashikaga, Tochigi. After studying Humanities at the International Christian University (ICU), he did post-graduate studies at the School for Language and Society of Hitotsubashi University. He was awarded the Izuka Takeshi and Stipendium Hungaricum scholarships, allowing him to enroll as a piano student at the Liszt Academy in Budapest, where he com‐ pleted the MA program in 2020. He now works as a ballet pianist at the Hungarian Dance University. Starting in 2018 he has collaborated with Tochigi High School alumni Yuki Arai (baritone) and Taku Kosugi (calligrapher) in a project involving music and Japanese calligraphy. This project, Oto to Kotoboano Aida (Between Mu‐sic and Words), tries to explore new possibilities for musical and visual expression.
